Pre-forum sessions @ 3:15pm  followed by General Session at 4:30pm.

Current/Former Foster Youth Session – Youth-only session to meet the state Foster Care Ombudsman and the brand-new Foster Care Policy & Community Liaison this is a new position that works to bring youth voice to the table. At this sessionyouth will learn how to leverage their voices to effect change.

Current/Former Foster, Relative, & Adoptive Parent Session – Peer networking and Group Discussion about the system strengths and weaknesses.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend. Email child.safety@state.or.us – Use the subject line SALEM .  Child care will be provided for current foster parents so please state your need in the RSVP email no later than 48 hours prior to the event.  If special arrangements for language or disability, please make that known in the email.

You're invited to share your ideas – how can we make the foster care system better?  
DHS has been hard at work making big changes. At this forum DGS will provide an update on Oregon's Child Welfare Action Plan, introduce you to new leadership and seek your feeback on current projects.
